Mountain Rooted Behavioral Health

In this world, there is plenty of despair and hopelessness to find. If you are scrolling through social media feeds, or watching cable news, unfortunately, it’s an easy conclusion to make. 

 

But at Mountain Rooted Behavioral Health. (MRBH) we believe in the value of life, and with it, all of the complexity. The ups and downs, The struggles, the hardship, the fear, the trauma, the pain, and the tragedy. But also the purpose, the joy, the triumph, and the hope. 

 

Dr. Victor Rendon was born and raised in Beckley, WV. He graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019. Upon completing his psychiatric training, he founded Mountain Rooted Behavioral Health with a mission to serve a community too often neglected. At the heart of Appalachia- Southern West Virginia, has seen its share of devastation and with it a host of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. 

 

These issues are not unique to this community, but what is unique is the strength and determination of its people. This community deserves a mental health service that reflects its values and by doing so, delivers the highest quality mental health care. 

 

We believe in doing things differently here. Medication serves its purpose, but there is no magic pill. We are counselors and clinicians, not saviors. We deliver our care through a combination of therapy, life coaching, and medication management, not medication overload. We form actual relationships with our patients and our community. 

 

To the patient we say, you are not your illness and you are not a victim. You have been given free will and with this, the greatest responsibility over your own destiny. Whatever you are going through, we promise to do everything in our power to help you to find your strength and with this,  rekindle your hope.
